Shopify Plus features
Valotrix Cart Rewards is priced identically on every Shopify plan, including Plus. Plus merchants get a couple of additional capabilities unlocked automatically because Shopify itself only allows them on Plus stores - we don't gate or upcharge them.
How Plus is detected
Plus status is read once per request from Shopify (with a 2-minute cache) and threaded through the engine, the admin UI, and server-side checks. There is no manual setup - install Valotrix Cart Rewards on a Plus store and the Plus features activate automatically.
Plus is independent of your Valotrix Cart Rewards plan. A Scale subscriber on a non-Plus shop does not unlock these capabilities; a Free-plan merchant on Plus does get them (within the limits of the Free plan's other features).
1. The "FREE GIFT" line label in the cart
On Plus stores, Valotrix Cart Rewards rewrites the gift line's title in the cart drawer, on the cart page, and at checkout so it reads whatever you've configured - typically "FREE GIFT" or your brand-specific phrasing - instead of the product's full name.
This is purely presentation. Shoppers see the gift line called out clearly as a gift rather than blending in with the rest of their purchase. The real product variant and inventory are untouched.
Configure the rewrite text in the rule's Delivery tab → Discount title field.
On non-Plus stores this rewrite is silently ignored - the underlying extension is installed safely on every plan, it just doesn't take effect off Plus.
2. Gift confirmation banners across the Plus checkout
On Plus stores, Valotrix Cart Rewards renders gift confirmation banners at three additional points in the checkout flow:
- The delivery-address step
- The shipping-option step
- The payment-method step
Each banner reassures the shopper that the gift is still in the order and shows the gift line summary inline. On every plan (Plus or not), the gift confirmation banner and per-line gift recap still appear on the order status (thank-you) page after purchase - so the experience degrades gracefully on non-Plus rather than disappearing.
The banner copy is automatically translated into 8 locales (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese) based on the shopper's Shopify Markets language.
3. Admin welcome tile
When you open the Valotrix Cart Rewards dashboard on a Plus store for the first time, a welcome tile confirms your Plus capabilities are active. It's dismissable and doesn't reappear after that - purely a reassurance touch, no setup required.
What's NOT Plus-only
Some things you might assume are Plus-only on a gift app aren't on Valotrix Cart Rewards:
- All 17 trigger conditions are available on every store regardless of Plus status. They're gated by your Valotrix Cart Rewards plan tier (Free / Growth $24/mo / Pro $49/mo / Scale $99/mo), not by Shopify Plus.
- All seven Custom Blocks (threshold bar, PDP gift preview, PDP buy-get pairing, urgency banner, inline tier stack, collection eligibility overlay, gift unlock celebration) work on every Shopify plan and every theme. Gift cart-line presentation (the "Free" label and quantity-lock that used to live in a separate Cart Line Badge block) is now a global setting under Settings → Gift line display and applies to every theme - including third-party cart drawers.
- The 100%-off gift discount works on every Shopify plan.
- Shopify Flow integration ("Promotion gift added" / "Promotion order converted" triggers, "Enable promotion campaign" / "Disable promotion campaign" actions) works on every plan.
There's no Delivery / Payment customization integration in Valotrix Cart Rewards today. It's on the roadmap but not shipped.
